What About Ladybugs?

Today we read a book called What About Ladybugs?
It is a story about They looked at his garden by insects and the bees are making honey from flower.
They sprayed water in the fruit trees.
When the gardener sprayed from the leaves and they died from the poison.
They sucked more planted juice and the ants licked up by the garden.
The garden grew big into the bufferly and here are so many plants.
There are thousands of ladybugs in the box.
The gardener always knows that ladybugs are special.
I like Ladybugs, Butterfly and Bees because there insects.

The kid got his silver bell back.
I like about the conductor driving the train.

Today we read a book called The Frog Prince.
It is story about The princess kiss the frog and turn the prince and they lived happily ever after.
he keep away at night and the frog was still there and ran off.
The beautiful sleeping princess kiss and woke up.
He ran deeper into the forest.
Then he found a tiny cottage.
Miss Witch could help the prince.
The prince was looking for sleeping beauty then the prince turn back into a frog.
 she put ice cream and Popsicles in the garden.
The prince ran away from the witch.
The witch turned into the carriage.
The prince was scared.
The price kissed the princess and they both turned into frogs then they live happily ever after.
I like about when prince and the princess turned into frogs.

December 15, 2010 Winter Choir Concert

This morning i went to the winter choir concert I'm wearing black pants, white shirt,
black shoes, and a Santa hat.The 8th Graders and me were singing Down Down The Chimney,
Carol Of The Bells, and Wintertime Aglow. I Take some pictures of my friends. The bus was broken
and now the bus was fixed.

The Bee Tree

Today we read a book called The Bee Tree.
It is a story about lot's of bees.
Why are they running Pa.
One of the boy asked his father.
Where after bees Grandpa said,  pointing at the small dot in the sky.
Grandpa pull the honeycomb into the beetree.
And she got stung by the bees.

Mary Ellen had a book and Grandpa put a small spoon of honey on her book.

The Subway Mouse

Mr. Peabody's Apples

Today we read a book called Mr. Peabody's Apples.
It is a story about Mr. Peabody picked the apples and dropped them and he told his friends and take his hat off. Mr. Peabody rang the doorbell and the small cloud in the sky. He cut the sissors by the pillow in half.
Ommy picked up all the feathers. Mr. Peabody took all the apples and didn't pay. There were Mr. Peabody
was a couch of a beaseball team. Mr. Peabody and a little kid were standing on the fence and throwing
feathers from a pillow. Mr. Peabody smiled and give the red shinney apple to the little kid and Mr. Peabody
went home. In the story I like Mr. Peabody about him and the little kid were standing on the fence and throwing feathers from a pillow and looking at the feathers in the sky.

Backbeard

Today we read a book called Backbeard.
It is story about The pirates were happy.
There were 6 fires were in the pirate.
The pirates see the moon and there were stars in the sky.
Backbeard and the pig went to town to find a job.
Backbeard still hadn't find a job.
He broke the cups yelling and crying.
Backbeard has a pig on his shoulder but he wants a bird parrot on his shoulder.
The Backbeard were passing the tea and I like the pig and Backbeard.

The Old Pirate Ofcentral Park

Today we read a book called The Old Pirate Ofecentral Park.
It is story about New york city apptioment.
The old pirates told the friends about.
The pirates was doing stuff in the kitchen.
The stuff that he was doing a little pirate ship.
The pirate put his little pirate ship in the lake to see if it worked.
The queen showed up at the pound.
The dog was nearly sunk.
Suddenly with a bang with a little ship.
The children were collecting the little cannon balls.
The queen told the pirate that need a nap.
There's lots of boats in the pound.
at the end of the story The queen and pirates are sitting down the bench and watch the birds.
My favorite part because I like captain of the ship, The queen met the old captain.

Students should arrive at 6:15 p.m. in their concert attire:
Boys: black pants with a white "dress" shirt, and black shoes.
Girls: black pants, capri, etc., and a nice white shirt.
Flares of red and green are acceptable at this concert!

Friday December 10 8th Grade Choir At Washington Square Mall

Dear Parents/Guardians
On Friday, December 10, Mountain View's 8th Grade choir will be performing at
Washington Square Mall. We will leave Mountain View at 9:05a.m. Students should
arrive at school dressed in their concert attire (black pants/skirts and a white shirt).
They can have "flares" of red and green along with the required dress code. The
"flares" can be items such as hair ribbons, bow ties, neck ties, scarves, and santa hats.
These items are optional. When we get to the mall we will have a few minutes to warm
up. We will get on the risers in front of Macy's at 10:00a.m. and sing for 30 minutes.
When our half hour is up we will transition back to the bus and head back to Mountain
View. Because this is a school function the students are required to ridew the bus to and
from Washington Square Mall. We would love to have a supportive audience so come
and watch if you are available. I am in need of chaperones. If you are interested
please send in the botton portion of this form and return it with your child as soon as
possible.

Students must turn in a singed Off-Campus Permission Slip as soon as possibe. The
last day to turn them in is Thursday, December 2.

REMINDER: Mountain View's Winter Concert has been changed to Deacember 15 to avoid
conflicts with Aloha High Schools Winter Concert.

Yesterday We went to the Nature Park in the field trip.
We took the Tri-Met Bus to the Nature Park.
Mrs. Murphy Show the leaves by plants like stinging metal.

We saw the colored plants and leaves and we drew the paper of leaves.
We ate Sack Lunch.
I have a good time in Nature Park.

Yesterday we saw the movie called IGOR.
Then he said master I need a new battery. Then he said No! I do want a new battery.
It is movie about Dr. G.  He was an ugly man,
he was a space astronaut. He flied up  to the moon and his name is Brain.
He flew  his rocket ship by  mars.   They flew back down to his home.

Fall Choir Concert

This Thursday I'm going to Fall Choir Concert in Gym 1. I had to be at 6:00 p.m.
I go were Black Pants, White Shirt And Black Shoes. We do our warm-up.
8th Graders will do Didn't My Lord Deliver Daniel, Shoshone Love Song, Kyrie Andrea Klouse and
American Folk Rhapsody. All 6th 7th and 8th will do Go The Distance.
The Concert Will end around 8:00 P.M. This Morning at 2nd period I got choir T-shirt with my last name on that. It cost $11 in the choir room.

The Secret Science Project That Almost Ate The School

Astronaut Handbook

Today we read a book called Astronaut Handbook,
It is story about soon it will be boarding a space shuttle and BLASTING the other space,
there all different kinds of people have become astronauts, they have been teachers painters
and even deep-sea divers, they have becoming an astronaut taking a lot of preparation,
they will have to pass tough fitness tests to become an astronaut, they will start and swimming,
It's important to be a team player, you can work tell with others time for survival training.

Last Sunday Night Garrett Parker is home from the mission.

Almost Gone

Today we read a book called Almost Gone.
this is a story about This iguana is found just one island in the caribbean,
the blue iguana is three to four feet in length, there are weights fifteen to twenty pounds,
They can live to be fifty years old, the body turns bright turquoise during mating season,
the blue iguanas eat fruit, flowers and leaves, they have hunted by people for food,
they spot from the air by 1982, the feshwater dolphins live in small groups along the length
of yangtze river.

Crashed, Smashed, And Mashed

Today we read a book called Crashed, Smashed, And Mashed.
It is story about crashed smashed cars in junkyard many cars were smashed,
they pick up cars and places on the lift, there were seven fluids are removed
gas from the gas tank from oil, tires are taken off the car in the air, there were heat and small
metal and separate, good engines are unbolted and forklifted out of the car, the good batteries
and radios are stored, after fluids are drained, customers walk through the junkyard, the good parts
are removed.

I do art paints with brush water and paper I make the pumpkin, We sang Shoshone Love Song, Didn't My Lord Deliver Daniel, and American Folk Rhapsody, I got cinnamon sticks with white icing, i got maple donut bar, I got chips and orange soda and fruit punch soda. at the choir Cody Sellers was here,
 we watched movie the up.

a birthmark sharped like a crown, So the king dressed up like someone else, the box didn't sink to the bottom, by sixteen years they went by with marco grown up tall and sweet, so the two were married,
it was easy to see why no one was anxious to go there, that was a silly dream to the devil, at the river the ferryman was waiting good news, at my sweet he said to the princess, marco took over his job by being the king.

castle, the polar bear heading from humans, the two kids making the snowman, the fire melts the snow,
the reindeers are running, that man who play the flute, katia ice storm freeze her heart she doesn't want

Mr.Karper Soap

Yesterday in Mr.Karper's class we did a big bubble soap, I put soap on the hands, Dante use a straw
and blew a big bubble and pop, we clean up the table with a paper towel and we washed his hands.

Jacques Cousteau

Today We read a book called Jacques Cousteau. It is a story about Jacques Cousteau who swims underwater. he saw the boat and ship, he's working the tools, he look underwater and grab the fish, he blew the bubbles, he look underwater and saw the seahorse, there's a alot of people in the ship. at the end of the story he go under the sea water and saw the fish.

Yesterday we saw the movie called Horton. this is a movie about a boy who smelled purple flowers.
He flew the sky and fell down in the ground. He made purple flower mountains. at the end of the movie.
He flew up in the air into the space.

Email From My Dad

Bryan loves loud noises, fire and flying objects.  Some of my favorite science memories include those elements.

Chemistry class with a chunk of pure sodium in water ignites making quite a large amount of flame and sputtering smoke.  One of the lab assistants later took a piece and flushed it down the toilet on the second floor.  There was enough oil on it to make a delayed reaction...toilets on the first and basement floors shot up like geysers, catching a few by surprise.

Chemistry class bunsen burners were always a source of entertainment by themselves (fire!).  In junior high some would take the rubber hoses and make water weenies out of them, tying one end with a knot, filling with water and holding the end to release the water.  One boy (a bully) decided to be really sneaky and had one that went down his sleeve and into his pant leg.  He then brought this onto the bus, ready to squirt helpless victims trapped on the bus.  Of course his accomplices couldn't keep from bragging what was going to happen so we were ready for him as he entered the bus.  He got just past the driver and a few of my friends in benches on each side of the bus slapped him really hard in the legs.  The hose burst, snapping him in a number of tender places as the rubber retreated, and immediately drenched him in water from head to toe while he screamed.  A wave of water gushed down the aisle of the bus.

We had at least two evacuations of the middle school building each year due to smoke and fire from chemistry experiments gone bad.  One included an explosion (mostly just a loud noise, no shrapnel) that was heard throughout the school and around the neighborhood.  Someone had decided to just mix a bunch of things together over the bunsen burner.  When it started to smoke he quickly ran it over to the hood and made it there just in time for the "big bang".

One of my favorite memories was making hot-air balloons out of plastic bags and tin plates as a Cub Scout.  A candle didn't seem to get enough lift, so our Den Chief (age 14) brought his aftershave lotion.  A small cup full made a great flame and the balloon rose quickly and much higher than all the rest.  As it kept rising we realized we had no way to control it or get it down.  We ran along fields and roads trying to keep it in sight until it passed over the highway and river out of sight.  The next day we heard of a big field fire that started the night before and were afraid it was caused by our balloon.  A week later they determined the cause to be something else, but it was a long week for us.

Model rockets were one of my favorite too.  Fun to learn about things that make noise, smoke and fly.  All the essential elements for a good time.  My friend Steve Kroon and I build a two-stage rocket with a camera in the nose.  It had a motor and trigger that would start taking pictures as the nose turned upside-down.  We launched it on July 4 after a neighborhood celebration in a field behind the homes.  The entire neighborhood turned out to see the launch.  There were so many engines in it we had to drive a car up to the launch area for the extra battery power.  Great launch!  The launch was a bit rough and triggered the camera early so we mostly got pictures of the sky and one or two of the horizon just as it started to tip over.

My high school physics teacher, Mr Vernier (he'd say, "like the caliper") would hold annual science events a couple of times a year to demonstrate science.  One was the bridge building contest where we built balsa wood bridges then had a competition to see how much weight each would hold, of course by loading them down with weight until they broke.  Some of the good ones would hold a LOT of weight then have spectacular failures, throwing pieces around the room.  The "monkey gun" was a favorite, where shooting a steel ball out a tube would trip an electric switch that dropped a tin can held by a magnet on the other side of the room.  The ball would hit the can before it hit the floor.  The biggest event though was Mr Vernier having one of the football players break a cement block with a sledge hammer that was sitting on a bed of nails on Mr Vernier's chest.  That one always packed the house!

Good times.  Science is one of my favorite classes once you get past the boring stuff and find out what you can really do with it.

This Summer I Was The Pirate. We Sail The Ship. We went to the island To Find the Treasure Chest.
We Went Back to the ship and saw the captain with the Parrot. and saw the Telescope. at the end of the story we went to the cave and saw gold.
